CHRISTMAS SPICED PORRIDGE

Best for: Breakfast

Serves: 1

Prep time: 5mins

Cook time: 10 mins

This porridge recipe will honestly make you want to eat porridge for every meal. It’s so perfect, especially over the festive season and really brightens up even the gloomiest of mornings.

THE RECIPE

Step 1

Start by making the Stewed Apples, these can be used for up to 5 servings or and frozen for future use. Peel the apple and cut it into 2cm squares, removing the core. Add the apples to a pan on a medium heath with the sugar and the cinnamon. Cook untill the apple softens and the sugar creates a caramel this will take around 10 minutes.

Step 2

Simply add the Oats, Almond mik, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Brown Sugard into a sauce pan on a medium heat and constantly stir. Mixture should start to thicken up, allow it to cook for around 10mins until all the liquid has been absorbed and the oats are soft forming a thick and creamy porridge.

Step 3

Add more milk to acquire the desired consistency, I like my porridge super thick. Finish by topping your porridge with Almond Butter and the Stewed Apples for the perfect morning pick me up.
